Studying ancient philosophy in Munich
Here's an announcement of funding opportunities for graduate study at the LMU, where I now teach along with Profs Christof Rapp and Oliver Primavesi:
Applications Invited: Munich Ancient Philosophy Doctoral Program
The Munich School of Ancient Philosophy is now accepting applications for doctoral study. Proposals are welcome in all areas of ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy, its medieval reception in Arabic and Latin, and textual criticism.
The school is a joint program of the Classics and Philosophy Departments at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität. It is directed by Professors Peter Adamson, Oliver Primavesi and Christof Rapp. In addition, it boasts a substantial (and growing) junior faculty.
A limited number of three-year fellowships covering the period of dissertation writing are available. Dissertations may be written in German or in English.
In order to guarantee full consideration, interested students should apply by March 1, 2013. Please visit our website (www.musaph.uni-muenchen.de) for more information about the program and for instructions about how to apply. Inquiries about the program can be directed to: musaph@lmu.de
